Welcome to Reception!

Doors open 8.50am

All children have a peg for their coat and a basket for letters and things to go home. Please check this often.

Please label all your child's uniform, including shoes!

We do PE on Tuesdays. PE kit is red t shirt, black short and black PE pumps. Please label everything and bring it in a named draw string PE bag. We keep these in school for each half term, sending them home to be washed in the holidays.

All reception children need a book bag which should be brought to school daily in readiness for library books, letter sound and number work, reading books and letters home. Please make sure your child's name is clearly on their bag.

In the Autumn term we send home story sacks to share at home. These contain books and other related toys and games. Please spend time using these with your child and look after them for others to use after you.

From then onward we will begin with reading books, initially starting with wordless books for your child to develop book skills, story telling and oracy skills. We then move on to sending books with words as your child is ready. Please use the reading record book to comment and sign that you have supported your child with reading and read with them at home.

Lunch-time is 12 noon - 1pm. Children can have school dinners or bring packed lunch. Dinners are to be paid for online, in advance, via Parent Pay.

Home-time is 3pm. Collect from the same red door as morning drop off. Please inform us in the morning, or tell breakfast club if someone different will be picking your child up from school.

Staff are on the class door at the start of each day, we are very approachable should you need to ask anything. We are also available to speak to at the end of the school day too.
